The Monochromatic Collage

Here is an idea for a simple collage project, perfect for giving your mind a break.

The Monochromatic Collage

This project simplifies the creative process by limiting your color palette. By focusing on a single color, you can pay more attention to texture, shape, and the subtle variations within a single hue.

Materials: Old magazines, paint chips, colored junk mail, or any paper with shades of one color (e.g., all blue, all red). You’ll also need scissors and glue.

The Process: Choose a single color. Then, go through your materials and cut out every piece you can find in that color. Don’t worry about the images themselves; focus on the shade. Arrange the pieces on a blank sheet of paper, letting the different tones and textures build a visual story. It’s a calming, meditative practice that proves even a single color can have a lot to say.
